Majune West and East
Immediately south of Block
L1 Safrique manages both the Majune West and
East Concessions. This contiguous area of over
1 million acres stretches from the Loreco to
Lugenda River. Vast miombo woodlands interspersed
with large open vleis make up the habitat in
between. This area is a known corridor for elephant
and Safrique has already taken big jumbo here
in its first two seasons of operating. Leopard
and lion are also plentiful and along with hippo
and croc makes it a great area for hunting dangerous
game.
Sable, eland and Niassa wildebeest are just
a few of the plains game species that occur
in Majune. The camp in Majune West consists
of thatched stone chalets overlooking the Lugenda
River. Majune East has an East African style
camp with canvas tents under thatch. Both camps
have en-suite bathrooms with hot and cold running
water. The cuisine served in our open air dining
rooms consists of wild game, local dishes and
americana style food.
In all of its concessions and camps Safrique
utilizes top-notch trackers, skinners and camp
staff.
