Mahimba Game Reserve

Safrique has the exclusive management rights to the well known Mahimba Game Reserve. Mahimba is truly a unique concession within Mozambique. It is situated between two oceanic rivers that along with the Indian Ocean form its boundaries. Unlike many hunting areas found in the Zambezi Delta, Mahimba is not covered by low-lying marshland and swamps. Instead you find pleasant and easy to navigate palmetto flats with coastal forests interspersed throughout.

This protected triangular concession is home to a thriving population of buffalo, sable, elephant waterbuck, bushbuck, reedbuck , crocodile and hippo. After our inaugural season in 2010 a rebuilding of the camp will take place. Clients arriving in 2011 will enjoy staying in chalets constructed from indigenous hardwood with thatched roofs. As in all of our camps each chalet comes with its own en-suite bathroom.
